A volunteer is needed to support People First. People First is a group of self advocates that promote equality for all people who have been labeled with an intellectual disability. Volunteers are needed to work with the group on various projects including but not limited to fundraising, workshops, running monthly chapter meetings, etc.

CHANCE Mentor Volunteer [ More Info ]
Would you like to have some fun? Be part of a young person's life! Spend time with a youth aged 12-17 working on some set goals while Mentoring a youth once a week for 2-3 hours for a period of six months.
The CHANCE Mentoring Program matches trained adult volunteers with at-risk youth aged 12-17. These youth are referred to the Program by counselors, schools, health professionals, parents as well as other Child and Youth agencies.

Volunteers co-facilitate small group exercises and discussions / provide positive role modeling and encouragement. They also participate with youth in activities and discussions.

Alternative to Home Suspension (SNAP) [ More Info ]
The Alternative to Home Suspension Program provides youth under suspension with an opportunity to continue their education and learn appropriate skills. Volunteers assist the youth with homework completion and the development of social and cognitive skills.
Volunteer opportunities are 2 hours a week from April or June 2010.
